Agora uma mensagem dirigida ao sector feminino: por falar em beleza, desejam mesmo ser bonitas? Então, aqui está uma dica: resistam aos estereótipos que vos moldam quotidianamente as mentes e sigam os conselhos de uma das divas de Hollywood que se converteram à força do Bem. Não me refiro a Angelina Jolie, mas a Audrey Hepburn, apesar de considerar que a primeira tem demonstrado, igualmente, ser uma alma elevada, que tem consciência que não necessita de prescindir da sua essência para desfrutar a sua aparência. A Beleza vazia raramente adquire o fascínio que mulheres como estas despertam nos outros. Mais dois percursos vivenciais que ridicularizam o preconceito de que uma mulher bonita não pode ser detentora de uma profunda inteligência, sensibilidade, competência e beleza interior.

Nowadays, (most) everyone is obsessed with physical beauty. Speaking about beauty- do you want to be pretty? So, here is a short hint: do resist the stereotypes which shape your mind everyday and follow the advise of one of the great Hollywood divas who devoted themselves to doing Good. I am not speaking about Angelina Jolie, but about Audrey Hepburn. However, I must say that Jolie does full justice to her surname, being such an humane and spiritually beautiful person, a great soul, who has full consciousness that she does not have to give up her essence to enjoy her appearance. Empty beauty not often reaches the fascination these kind of women have on others.

These are two more living paths that show how fragile is the prejudice regarding denying intelligence, sensibility, competence and inner beauty as features of all beautiful women.

"1. Se quer ter lábios atraentes, diga palavras doces/ If you want to have attractive lips do say gentle words.
2. Se quer ter olhos belos, procure ver o lado bom dos outros/ If you want to have beautiful eyes look for other people´s bright side.
3. Se quer ter um corpo esguio, divida a sua comida com os famintos/ If you want to have a thin body share your food with hungry people.
4. Se quer ter cabelos bonitos, deixe uma criança passar os seus dedos por eles pelo menos uma vez por dia/ If you want to have a beautiful hair let a child pass her little fingers through it once a day.
5. Se quer ter uma boa postura, caminhe com a certeza de que nunca andará sozinha/ If you want to have a good posture walk being sure that you´ll never walk alone.
6. As pessoas, muito mais do que as coisas, devem ser restauradas, revividas, e resgatadas: jamais descarte alguém/ People, more than things, must be restaured, relived and rescued: never throw away anyone.
7. Lembre-se de que, se alguma vez precisar de uma mão amiga, encontrá-la-á no final do seu braço. Ao ficarmos velhos, descobrimos porque temos duas mãos- uma para nos ajudarmos a nós mesmos, a outra para ajudar o próximo/ Remember that if you ever need a friendly hand you´ll find it at the end of your arm. When we get old we find out why we have two hands- one for helping ourselves, the other for helping others.
8. A verdadeira Beleza de uma mulher não está nas roupas que veste, nem no corpo que mostra, ou no seu cabelo. A verdadeira Beleza de uma mulher deve ser vista nos seus olhos, porque esta é a porta para seu coração, o lugar onde o amor reside/ A woman´s real Beauty is not in her clothes, nor in her body or in her hair. A woman´s real Beauty must be seen in her eyes, because this is the door to her heart, the spot where love lives.
9. A verdadeira Beleza de uma mulher não está na sua expressão facial, mas está reflectida na sua alma, está no carinho que oferece, na paixão que demonstra./ A woman´s real Beauty is not in her facial expression, but is reflected in her soul, in the tenderness she offers, in the passion she shows.

PS: a foto é magnífica, a cigarrilha é, hoje, completamente dispensável. Não nos esqueçamos que, naquela época memorável (anos 50-60), o cigarro era utilizado no cinema por estas divas como o símbolo da emancipação feminina.

This is a magnificent photo, however, nowadays the cigarette is completely dispensable. Do not forget that in those memorable times (the fifties and sixties), the cinematopgraphic feminin use of cigarette was connected with women emancipation.
